Maputo, 20 Jan (AIM) – The publicly Mozambique Airports Company (ADM) has announced the resumption of activities at Tete Airport, in the central city of Tete, following the damage of eight approach lights and theft of 150- and 200-watt transformers by do far unknown individuals.
The damage to these airport instruments, which are essential for the lighting system on runway 19 at Tete Airport, took place last Thursday.
In a statement, the company explains that the damaged lamps, cables and transformers have been replaced, restoring all the technical and safety conditions necessary for airport operations, including night flights.
“ADM reiterates its commitment to operational safety and thanks passengers and operators for their understanding during the intervention period”, reads the note, calling on the community to collaborate in reporting acts of vandalism that endanger the safety of civil aviation and disrupt the normal functioning of airports.
