Maputo, 18 Jun (AIM) – The Mozambican branch of the Nigerian United Bank for Africa (UBA) has recorded, over the last year, 1.5 percent increase in profits, which corresponds to 983.3 million meticais (15.3 million US dollars at the current exchange rate).
According to the bank’s financial report, this figures represent an increase of 37.9 percent compared with 2024, when it was recorded profits evaluated at 969.2 million meticais.
“This performance was driven by the expansion of banking income, supported by growth in the securities portfolio, reflecting increased customer deposits and an efficient resource allocation strategy. UBA also recorded total assets evaluated at 17,369 million meticais in 2025, an increase of 15.3 percent year on year. However, customer loans fell by 16.6 percent to 1,634 million meticais, while customer deposits rose by 9.3 percent to 11,426 million meticais.
