Maputo, 1 Jul (AIM) – Nelson Nunes, chairperson of Mozambique’s National Road Transport Institute (INATRO), has challenged the institution’s officials to strengthen their technical, operational and organizational capacity in order to address the constraints facing the country’s road sector.
“We must ensure more efficient regulation of the road sector and the delivery of public services that are modern, swift, transparent, and citizen-centered”, the chairperson said on Tuesday at the institution’s VI Advisory Council, which runs until Thursday, in the central city of Beira, in Sofala province.
According to Nunes, INATRO still faces many challenges regarding the simplification of procedures and standardization of service delivery, meaning that “the institution must efficient measures must be implemented.”
“It requires digital transformation. However, digitization does not simply mean computerizing processes, it means rethinking how public services are designed and delivered in order to simplify procedures, integrate platforms to place the citizen at the center of the public institute’s service delivery”, he said.
During the event, the institution’s officials will participate in training sessions focused on preventing and combating corruption, strengthening organizational culture and institutional communication, “aiming to solidify the pillars of good governance and excellence in public service delivery.”
The participants will also review the results of activities carried out over the last fiscal year and assess future institutional prospects. The agenda also places special emphasis on digitalization, strategic human capital management, regulatory challenges, and substantial improvements to traffic services.
