Nampula (Mozambique), 3 Oct (AIM) – Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi on Wednesday challenged the National Social Security Institute (INSS) to maximize taxpayers’ savings for the benefit of pensioners, claiming that in order to achieve this goal, the institute must adopt new strategies.
According to the President, who was speaking during the inauguration of the INSS delegation in the northern city of Nampula, the INSS must know how to be transparent, respecting professional ethics and the pensioners.
“We must remind you that you must never let your guard down when it comes to work guided by values such as integrity, transparency, professional ethics and innovation. INSS is committed to good service and promoting values of transparency, and greater respect for taxpayers, beneficiaries and pensioners”, he said.
The new building, budgeted at 149 million meticais (around 2.3 million dollars at the current exchange rate), was funded by the state. It was built on more than 800 square metres in the expansion zone of Muahivire neighbourhood.
The President also called on the INSS to improve the way it addresses the users, especially those who are of working age, as well as those who have retired.
“The INSS is for Mozambique and for Mozambicans.
This is the workers ‘bank”, he said.
