Maputo, 22 May (AIM) – The Mozambican Defence and Security Forces (FDS) have killed at least six Islamist terrorists in Muidumbe district, in the northern province of Cabo Delgado.
According to a source cited by the Portuguese News Agency Lusa, the clash between the FDS and the terrorists took place last Sunday in Miangalewa, in Muidumbe district.
The soldiers noticed preparations for an attack on their position and they were forced to act. “We were eating and then we noticed some strange movements. That’s when we realized the rebels planned to attack one of our positions”, said the source.
He added that the clash, which took place during the day, also left several attackers wounded.
