Maputo, 27 Aug (AIM) – The chairperson of the Integrated Agency for the Development of Northern Mozambique (ADIN), Jacinto Loureiro, has revealed that the agency is looking for partners to fund its projects budgeted at over two billion dollars.
According to Loureiro, speaking at the 59th edition of the Maputo International Trade Fair (Facim-2024), which was launched on Monday, the amount in question will be enough to implement 50 projects listed by the agency.
“ADIN is exhibiting 54 projects worth over two billion dollars at FACIM, but the implementation rate is very low”, he said.
Loureiro said that ADIN’s exhibition, in the current edition of FACIM, aims at mobilizing strategic partners, as well as taking the organization’s image to the public since many people do not even know of its existence.
“We are focused on people. When we see an improvement in people’s quality of life, we believe that ADIN will be satisfied. That’s why we’re here, exhibiting new projects that are looking for partners and funding”, he said.
Loureiro explained that the most promising project that ADIM took to FACIM is named Agronorte, which is focused on agriculture.
“It’s a very consistent project, very down to earth, so that we can gradually start to see the fields that exist in Cabo Delgado, Niassa and Nampula, which are very rich and productive, but dormant. This is the major project that we brought to FACIM, to seek funding”, he said.
