Viatura queimada pelos terroristas em Cabo Delgado.
Maputo, 16 Apr (AIM) – A group of Islamist terrorists burned down two churches and 95 houses in the communities of Nkole and Ngura, in Ancuabe district, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado on Sunday and Monday.
According to a report by the Portuguese news agency, Lusa, during the attack, the terrorists also stole 15 motorbikes belonging to the local residents. There were no reports of any fatalities, but, as a result of the raid, villagers were forced to abandon their homes in search of safer places to hide.
“The problem is serious. The terrorists burnt 95 houses and two churches and stole 15 motorbikes in broad daylight. I still don’t know if anyone died or not, but we all fled”, a source said.
Also on Sunday, the terrorists blocked national road number 14, which links Montepuez district to Pemba city, the Cabo Delgado provincial capital, and set two vehicles on fire. They also kidnapped the drivers and took them to a place so far unknown.
