Maputo, 7 Oct (AIM) – A group of unknown assailants on Tuesday morning kidnapped a Portuguese businessman in downtown Maputo.
The victim owns a company called NBC, which sells car accessories, motorcycles and other vehicles. He was caught while he was trying to enter his company located on Zedequias Manganhela Avenue.
According to eyewitnesses, the criminal group consisted of four men who were inside a Toyota Prado vehicle without license plate. “The kidnappers blocked the vehicle of the owner of a company selling car accessories. It was about six o’clock”, a source said.
“The kidnappers attacked a security guard and then took the businessman into the vehicle, which had no license plate”, added another source.
So far, there is no information on the whereabouts of the kidnapped citizen, nor any official statement from the police at the scene of the crime.
